On this day, 36 years ago on February 22 to 25, in the year 1986, the first EDSA People Power Revolution took place. Thousands of Filipino protesters gathered in the Epifanio De Los Santos Avenue (or famously known as EDSA) to end the Marcos regime.
This historic event of our country featured different people in all walks of life. They voiced out with strength and hope to dethrone the dictator who placed the entire country under Martial Law for14 years. In the end, it was successfully done, and a new President was elected.
