When a business succeeds and appears in newspapers and television programs, people frequently look up to top business executives or outstanding professionals and shower them with many praises. And it's never wrong, don't get me wrong! They deserve the glory we all give to them for their hard-earned achievements. It's just that it's hard to see certain people who deserve the same accolades fade into the background because they work internally - often unseen. You guessed it right! I'm talking about those organization superstars who oversee many vital tasks for the business– from recruiting and selecting the most competent people who will help the company thrive, to training and developing them, to ensuring they get the proper compensation and benefits alongside ensuring the organization's compliance to laws, to reinforcing fundamental principles and values to the employees and et cetera. The people who do more but are often overlooked – are human resource professionals. Thankfully, since 2013, a deserving annual celebration of the significant role that HR professionals play in every firm has been carried out.
For the first time ever, Jamaican Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen mentioned HR Professional Day in 2013 to honor human resource professionals who support every firm on its path to success by fostering its most priceless asset, human capital (Mirzaliyeva, 2022). Up to this day, the world comes together on September 26 to honor the wonderful people in human resource departments across the globe. This celebration also enables a better introduction and enlightenment about the daily incessantly active role that HR practitioners take to ensure the balance between company activities and manpower while looking after the latter's welfare and development as employees. Through public lectures and seminars conducted on this day, we get to give a clear picture of how HR helps in business affairs, primarily internal, such as corporate liaison, law interpretation, dispute conciliation, and bargaining. By highlighting these essential tasks, people will understand better the significance of HR in every organization's success. We will hopefully inspire more people to make this their desired career.
Having this day, even just once a year is a win for the HR industry. For a long time, since 1900, the world finally recognized loudly how human resource practitioners work hard to help both the company and its employees. As if wings, enabling our aspirations to soar high and reach their desired destinations. Now, we hold the opportunity to give back the same energy and passion they pour onto us every day. Every September 26, take part in the activities designated for them by dedicating a post online, looking into HR-related job openings to see if you or anyone you know is interested, attending HR seminars with friends or coworkers, or simply spreading the word through articles, poems, and documentaries to encourage more people to enter or appreciate the industry. Human resource professionals frequently build ladders to help employees reach their target states; now, it's our chance to reward them with much-deserved respect and gratitude!
